Why Greener Cleaner?
Every Greener Cleaner brush, broom, dustpan and cloth is built on two ideas: that cleaning products should be made from plastic that has already been used, rather than new plastic, and that they should clean at least as well as the ordinary alternative. Not one at the expense of the other. Here is how that works in practice.

100% recycled plastic, made to last
Our eco-experts developed a 100% recycled plastic material made from recovered plastic, keeping it in circulation and reducing the need for single-use plastic. It is durable and performs as well as any non-eco alternative.
Every handle and every bristle across the brush and broom range is moulded from it. Recycled content is independently verified through the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), so the claim is audited rather than self-declared.
*Handles (except our Telescopic Broom and Lobby Set) made from 100% recycled plastic. Bristles made from 100% recycled plastic. What makes a Greener Cleaner brush different
Recycled material is only half of it. The reason our tools hold their own against ordinary brands is the engineering in each part.
Brush fibres
Extra strong to last longer and remain durable, with extra tough scrubby bristles for stuck-on dirt.
Broom fibres
Feathered ends gather and hold more dust, covering a larger surface area in each sweep.
Rubber edges
A soft runner adds durability, cleans uneven surfaces and protects skirting and furniture.
Bristles are drilled and glued rather than stapled, which is why they stay put through repeated use and why the brushes carry a one year dishwasher guarantee. The plastic is durable to 50n strength.

Microfibre cloths that clean with just water

Our microfibre cloths are made from quality yarn and have millions of fibres to draw up, collect, trap and remove dirt, grease and bacteria. The microfibre technology means you can clean with confidence, just with water.
A cotton fibre is round and relatively smooth, so it pushes dirt across a surface and leaves residue behind. A microfibre strand is split into much finer filaments with far more surface area and edges, so it lifts and holds what it touches instead of smearing it.
That is why no spray is needed, and it is why our cloths are an Allergy UK Allergy Friendly Product.

Doing our bit beyond the product
We donate 1% of every sale through 1% for the Planet to environmental causes working to protect oceans and coastlines, and in the UK we partner with Surfers Against Sewage. It is a small percentage of a small company, but it is taken off the top rather than out of profit, so it happens whether we have a good year or a bad one.
Greener Cleaner is a family-run British brand, based in Dorking, Surrey, and making eco cleaning products since 2008. Read our story.
Common questions
Do microfibre cloths really clean with just water?
Yes. The fibres are split into filaments far finer than a cotton thread, which gives a single cloth an enormous amount of surface area and edge. That structure lifts dirt, grease and moisture off a surface and holds it in the cloth rather than pushing it around, so a detergent is not needed to break the dirt away first.
Are recycled plastic cleaning brushes as strong as ordinary ones?
Ours are. The material is durable to 50n strength, bristles are drilled and glued rather than stapled, and every brush carries a one year dishwasher guarantee. Recycled plastic has a reputation for being brittle, which is fair for low-grade material, but the grade and the moulding are what determine strength.
How many times can a Greener Cleaner microfibre cloth be washed?
Machine washable up to 100 times while keeping absorbency and fibre performance. Wash without fabric conditioner, which coats the fibres and stops them working. Tumble drying on low is fine.
Are Greener Cleaner products suitable for allergy sufferers?
Our microfibre cloths are an Allergy UK Allergy Friendly Product. Because they clean with water alone, there is no detergent residue left on surfaces, which is often what causes a reaction.
Is the whole product recycled, or just part of it?
Handles and bristles across the range are 100% recycled plastic. The two exceptions are the Telescopic Broom and the Lobby Set, whose handles are made from steel.
Where are Greener Cleaner products made and who makes them?
Greener Cleaner is a brand of Vitality House Ltd, a family-run business in Dorking, Surrey, making eco cleaning products since 2008.
